THE ROSSO CONERO<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”custom” align=”align_left” el_width=”30″ accent_color=”#bdbdbd” css=”.vc_custom_1686036573712{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column_text el_class=”margin_top_40″]The roots of wine production in Marca Dorica (The Conero<\/strong> area) can be dated back to the 10th century BC, during the Etruscan period. Since the, wine growing has gradually developed by improving the quality of the wine<\/strong> product of Conero. Rosso Conero<\/strong> is mainly made with Montepulciano grapes<\/strong>, even if the Production Specification give the opportunity to add Sangiovese grapes for a quantity of no more then 15%. Almost all the firms use pure Montepulciano.<\/p>\n

The geographical reference point of the production area is the promontory of Mt. Conero<\/strong> facing the Adriatic Sea<\/strong>, in the south-east of Ancona, and the degrading hills. It involves seven Municipalities, Ancona<\/strong>, Camerano<\/strong>, Numana<\/strong>, Offagna<\/strong>, Sirolo<\/strong> and partly Castelfidardo<\/strong> and Osimo<\/strong> for a total 200 hectares of vineyards. A niche area characterized by different soils, with the marls and the calcareous marls of the mountain spurs, the clays and the marly clays of Camerano and Osimo and the sands of the area of Offagna.<\/p>\n

The climate, characterize by dry summers and mild autumns, helps a lot in the production of the unmistakable red nectar. The Consorzio per la tutela del Rosso Conero was born in 1966 and includes all the local producers. The Denomination of Controlled Origin ( DOC) arrived in 1967 and soon after the typology \u201cRiserva\u201d with two ageing years from the 31st March following the grapes production. The last quality acknowledgement was the Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin (DOCG): the publication on the Official Journal of the specifications will take place within summer 2004, while the writing \u201cDenominazione di origine Controllata Garantita\u201d can be inserted in the label only two years the publication.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInRight” width=”1\/3″ el_class=”desktop padding_left80″]
